Description
Anti-D Kamrho D.I.M is an anti-D immunoglobulin used to prevent Rh immunization in Rh-negative individual. It is commonly administered to Rh-negative pregnant women to prevent the formation of antibodies against Rh-positive fetal red blood cells, which can occur during childbirth, abortion, or other sensitizing events. It is also used in idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) to prevent excessive bleeding.
Dosage/Directions
For postpartum use: One dose of 250 mcg should be given intramuscularly within 72 hours after delivery or abortion.
For other sensitizing events: 125 mcg per episode for events up to 20 weeks of gestation, and 250 mcg for events after 20 weeks.
For antenatal prophylaxis: 250 mcg should be given at weeks 28 and 34 of pregnancy.
Method of administration: Inject deep intramuscularly; do not inject intravenously.
Side Effects
Common side effects may include hypersensitivity reactions (hives, wheezing, urticaria), pain and tenderness at the injection site, fever, chills, nausea, facial flushing, and headache. Serious side effects are rare but can include severe allergic reactions. If you experience any severe side effects, seek medical attention immediately.
