Description
Lasix 40 mg Tablets contain furosemide, a potent diuretic used to treat conditions related to fluid retention (edema) and hypertension (high blood pressure). Furosemide works by increasing the excretion of sodium and water from the kidneys, which helps reduce fluid buildup and lower blood pressure.
Dosage/Direction:
For edema, the typical dose is 1 tablet (40 mg) once or twice daily, which may be adjusted based on the patient’s response. For hypertension, the usual starting dose is also 40 mg, taken once or twice daily. Tablets should be taken in the morning to avoid frequent nighttime urination. Follow your healthcare provider’s dosing instructions carefully.
Side Effects:
Common side effects include increased urination, dizziness, and headache. Rare but serious side effects may include electrolyte imbalances, dehydration, or severe allergic reactions. Contact your healthcare provider if severe symptoms occur.
