Description
Rifaxa 200mg Tablets contain Rifaximin, an antibiotic that treats various bacterial infections. Doctors frequently prescribe it for irritable bowel syndrome with diarrhea (IBS-D), travelers’ diarrhea caused by Escherichia coli (E. coli), and to protect patients with liver disease from developing hepatic encephalopathy. Rifaximin reduces symptoms and prevents complications by limiting the growth of bacteria in the intestines.
Dosage/Directions: Take Rifaxa 200mg Tablets as your doctor prescribes. For travelers’ diarrhea, the typical dosage is one tablet taken three times a day for three days. For IBS-D, take one tablet three times daily for 14 days. For hepatic encephalopathy, the dosage is one tablet taken twice daily. You can take it with or without food. Follow your doctor’s instructions closely and complete the full course of treatment.
Side Effects: Common side effects may include nausea, headache, dizziness, and swelling in the hands or feet. Serious side effects can include severe stomach pain, watery or bloody diarrhea, and signs of an allergic reaction such as hives, difficulty breathing, and swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat. Contact your doctor immediately if you experience any severe or persistent symptoms.
