Amikacin Injection 500mg/2ml contains amikacin, an aminoglycoside antibiotic used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria.

Dosage/Directions

Administered by a healthcare professional either intravenously (IV) or intramuscularly (IM).

Dosage is based on the patient’s medical condition, weight, lab tests, and response to treatment.

Frequency: Usually every 8 hours.

Complete the full course of treatment even if symptoms improve.

Side Effects

Common side effects may include nausea, vomiting, stomach upset, loss of appetite, pain/irritation/redness at the injection site. Serious side effects are rare but can include numbness/tingling, muscle twitching or weakness, seizures, severe allergic reactions.
