Description
Febo G 80mg Tablets contain febuxostat, a non-purine, selective xanthine oxidase inhibitor. This medication is used for the long-term management of hyperuricemia in patients with gout. Febuxostat works by reducing the production of uric acid in the body, thereby preventing gout flares and reducing the risk of urate crystal formation in joints and tissues.
Dosage/Directions: The typical dosage for adults is one 80mg tablet taken once daily. For patients who do not achieve a serum uric acid level of less than 6mg/dL after 2 weeks with 40mg, the 80mg dose is recommended. Febo G can be taken with or without food. Always follow your healthcare provider’s instructions regarding dosage and duration of treatment.
Side Effects: Common side effects include liver function abnormalities, nausea, joint pain, and rash. Serious side effects may include cardiovascular events, severe allergic reactions, and liver damage. If you experience any severe side effects, contact your healthcare provider immediately.
