Dosage/Direction
- Adults and teenagers: 250 mg every 12 hours or 500 mg once daily.
- Children: Dosage is based on body weight and should be determined by a doctor.
- Administration: Take with or after a meal containing a moderate amount of fat to enhance absorption.
Side Effects
Common side effects include headache, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach upset, tiredness, dizziness, and trouble sleeping. Serious side effects may include allergic reactions, liver problems, and severe skin reactions. It is contraindicated in patients with liver failure, porphyria, and those who are pregnant.
