Description
Kchek 15 g Sachets (10’s) contain Calcium Polystyrene Sulphonate, an ion-exchange resin used to treat hyperkalemia (high blood potassium levels). This condition is common in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) or those undergoing dialysis.
Mechanism of Action: Calcium Polystyrene Sulphonate exchanges calcium ions for potassium ions in the intestines, removing excess potassium through stool and lowering blood potassium levels.
Indications:
- Hyperkalemia due to CKD or dialysis
- Prevention of complications such as arrhythmias, muscle weakness, or cardiac arrest
