Description
Orelox 100mg Tablets contain Cefpodoxime, a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic used to treat a variety of bacterial infections, including respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, and skin infections. Cefpodoxime works by inhibiting the synthesis of bacterial cell walls, leading to the death of the bacteria. It is effective against a broad spectrum of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.
Dosage/Directions
For adults and children over 12 years, the recommended dosage is 200mg twice daily, depending on the severity of the infection. For children under 12 years, the dosage is based on body weight and should be determined by a healthcare provider.
Side Effects
Common side effects include stomach upset, diarrhea, nausea, headache, and dizziness. Serious side effects are rare but may include severe allergic reactions, persistent diarrhea, and signs of kidney problems. If any severe side effects occur, seek medical attention immediately.
