Description
Otrivin 0.05% Drops (Paediatric) contains xylometazoline, a decongestant used to relieve nasal congestion in children caused by allergies, sinusitis, or the common cold. It works by narrowing the blood vessels in the nasal passages, reducing swelling and congestion.
Dosage/Direction: For children aged 2-12 years, instill 1-2 drops into each nostril 1-2 times daily, not exceeding 3 applications per day. Tilt the child’s head back, gently squeeze the dropper to release the drops, and keep the head tilted for a few minutes to allow the solution to spread. Avoid touching the dropper tip to any surface to prevent contamination.
Side Effects: Common side effects include dryness in the nose, temporary irritation or burning sensation, sneezing, and headache. Serious side effects may include increased blood pressure, dizziness, and increased heartbeat. If any severe or persistent symptoms occur, discontinue use and consult your healthcare provider immediately.
