Klacid Syrup 250mg/5ml 50ml is an antibiotic syrup containing Clarithromycin, effective in treating various bacterial infections, including respiratory, skin, and some stomach infections. Clarithromycin works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, which prevents bacterial growth. For children, the recommended dosage is typically 7.5 mg/kg body weight per day, divided into two or three doses. For example, for a 10 kg child, the daily dose would be 30 ml, divided into 10 ml three times daily. Dosage should be adjusted based on the child’s weight and medical guidance.
Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain. Less common effects might include dizziness, rash, and allergic reactions. If severe side effects occur or symptoms persist, discontinue use and consult a healthcare provider.
