Artequick Tablets are an antimalarial combination drug containing artemisinin and piperaquine, used to treat malaria, particularly drug-resistant falciparum malaria. Each tablet contains 62.5 mg of artemisinin and 375 mg of piperaquine. The usual dosage for adults is 2 tablets at 0 hours and 2 tablets at 24 hours, totaling 4 tablets. Artequick is well tolerated, with rapid action and high efficacy. Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, dizziness, and abdominal pain. Serious side effects are rare but may include cardiac disorders such as QT prolongation and tachycardia. Patients with heart conditions, liver or kidney disease, or those taking other medications that prolong the QT interval should use this medication with caution. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult their healthcare provider before using Artequick.
