Description
Montel Tablets contain Montelukast, a leukotriene receptor antagonist used to manage and prevent asthma symptoms and to relieve symptoms of seasonal allergies (allergic rhinitis). Montelukast works by blocking substances in the body called leukotrienes, which cause inflammation and swelling in the airways.
Dosage/Directions:
The typical dosage for adults and adolescents aged 15 years and older is one 10mg tablet taken once daily in the evening. For exercise-induced bronchoconstriction, take one tablet at least 2 hours before exercise. It is important to continue taking Montel Tablets even when not experiencing symptoms. Always follow the dosage instructions provided by a healthcare professional.
Side Effects:
Common side effects include headache, dizziness, abdominal pain, and cough. Some patients may experience upper respiratory infections, fever, or rash. Rarely, severe side effects such as mood changes, allergic reactions, or liver problems may occur.
