Description
Virovir Eye Ointment contains Acyclovir, an antiviral medication used to treat eye infections caused by the herpes simplex virus. It works by inhibiting the replication of the virus, thereby reducing the severity and duration of the infection.
Dosage/Directions:
Apply a 1 cm ribbon of Virovir Eye Ointment in the lower conjunctival sac of the affected eye five times a day at approximately four-hour intervals, omitting the night-time application. Continue treatment for at least 3 days after healing.
Side Effects:
Common side effects include mild stinging or burning upon application, punctate keratitis, and follicular conjunctivitis. If these persist or worsen, consult your doctor. Serious side effects may include severe allergic reactions, sudden vision changes, or eye pain. Report any unusual symptoms to your healthcare provider immediately.
