Description
APIXA-Q 2.5mg Tablets contain apixaban, an anticoagulant used to prevent and treat blood clots. It is commonly prescribed to reduce the risk of stroke and systemic embolism in patients with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation, and to prevent deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE) following hip or knee replacement surgery. The usual dosage is 2.5 mg taken twice daily, with or without food. Common side effects include bleeding, bruising, nausea, and anemia. Serious side effects may include severe allergic reactions, liver problems, and significant bleeding. Patients with kidney or liver disease, or those taking other medications that affect blood clotting, should use this medication with caution. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult their healthcare provider before using APIXA-Q. It is important to take this medication exactly as prescribed and not to stop it abruptly without consulting a healthcare professional.
