Avodart 0.5mg Capsules 30s contain dutasteride, a medication used to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), a non-cancerous enlargement of the prostate gland.  By inhibiting the enzyme 5-alpha-reductase, dutasteride reduces the production of dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a hormone responsible for prostate growth. This helps alleviate symptoms such as difficulty urinating, weak urine flow, and the need to urinate frequently or urgently.
