Description
Bonviva (chemical name: ibandronate) is a medication used to treat or prevent osteoporosis in postmenopausal women. It belongs to a class of drugs called bisphosphonates, which help to strengthen bone and reduce the risk of fractures.
Bonviva works by slowing down the rate of bone loss and increasing bone mass, which helps to reduce the risk of fractures. It’s usually taken orally with a full glass of plain water, on an empty stomach, at least 60 minutes before the first food or drink of the day, or other medications.
