Description
Daboral 125/5ml Syrup contains aminosidine sulphate (paromomycin), an aminoglycoside antibiotic effective against a variety of intestinal protozoal infections. It is commonly used to treat conditions such as amoebiasis, cryptosporidiosis, and giardiasis. Paromomycin works by inhibiting protein synthesis in the protozoa, leading to their death.
Dosage/Directions
For adults and children, the typical dose is 25-35mg/kg/day, divided into three doses, taken orally every 8 hours. Shake the bottle well before use and measure the dose with a proper measuring device. Complete the full course of treatment as prescribed, even if symptoms improve.
Side Effects
Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. Serious side effects may include hearing loss, kidney problems, and severe allergic reactions. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience symptoms such as severe abdominal pain, hearing changes, or unusual bleeding.
