Description
Meditrol 0.25mcg Capsules contain calcitriol, a form of vitamin D used to treat conditions like postmenopausal osteoporosis, renal osteodystrophy in chronic renal failure, and various forms of hypoparathyroidism.
Dosage/Directions: The typical dosage is 0.25 mcg taken once daily. For postmenopausal osteoporosis, the dosage may be 0.25 mcg twice daily. For renal osteodystrophy, the dosage may be increased by 0.25 mcg/day at 2-4 week intervals. Always follow your doctor’s instructions and do not adjust the dosage without consulting your healthcare provider.
Side Effects: Common side effects include hypercalcemia (high calcium levels), which can cause symptoms like loss of appetite, weight loss, nausea, vomiting, headache, and drowsiness.
