Description
Microgynon FE Tablets are a combined oral contraceptive used to prevent pregnancy. Each tablet contains two hormones: Ethinylestradiol (30 µg) and Levonorgestrel (150 µg), along with a small amount of iron (ferrous fumarate) in the inactive tablets. These hormones work together to prevent ovulation, thicken cervical mucus to block sperm, and alter the uterine lining to prevent implantation.
Dosage/Directions:
Take one tablet daily at the same time each day for 21 consecutive days, followed by 7 days of taking the iron-containing inactive tablets. Start the next pack after the 7-day break. If you miss a pill, follow the instructions provided in the leaflet or consult your healthcare provider.
Side Effects:
Common side effects include nausea, headache, breast tenderness, and mood changes. Some women may experience breakthrough bleeding or spotting. Rarely, serious side effects such as blood clots, high blood pressure, or liver problems may occur. If you experience any severe side effects, discontinue use and consult a healthcare provider immediately.
