Description
Scarin (Permethrin 5%) Cream is an antiparasitic medication used to treat scabies, a contagious skin condition caused by the itch mite, Sarcoptes scabiei. Permethrin is a synthetic pyrethroid that acts as a neurotoxin by disrupting the nerve cell membranes of the parasites, leading to their death
Dosage/Directions
Dosage: Apply a thin layer of cream to the entire body from the neck down, focusing on areas where mites are likely to be present. Leave the cream on for 8-14 hours, then wash it off.
Frequency: Usually, one application is sufficient, but a second application may be required 7 days later if live mites are still present.
Directions: Clean and dry the affected area before application. Wash your hands after applying the cream unless your hands are the affected area.
Side Effects
Common side effects may include itching, burning, stinging, and redness at the application site. If you experience any severe side effects or signs of an allergic reaction, discontinue use and consult your healthcare provider immediately.
