Description
Active Ingredients: Atenolol 100mg and Chlorthalidone 25mg.
Mechanism of Action: Atenolol, as explained above, is a beta-blocker. Chlorthalidone is a thiazide diuretic that increases the excretion of sodium and water by the kidneys, leading to decreased blood volume and subsequent reduction in blood pressure.
Indication: Tenoretic 100mg tablets are indicated for the treatment of hypertension. It combines the blood pressure-lowering effects of both atenolol and chlorthalidone.
Dosage: The usual recommended dose of Tenoretic 100mg tablets is one tablet taken orally once daily.
Administration: Tenoretic 100mg tablets should be swallowed whole with a glass of water, with or without food.
Side Effects: Common side effects may include dizziness, fatigue, headache, nausea, and low blood pressure. Additionally, chlorthalidone may cause increased urination and electrolyte imbalances.
