Description
Aldomet 500mg Tabs contain methyldopa, an antihypertensive medication used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). It works by relaxing blood vessels, allowing blood to flow more easily. The usual starting dosage is 250 mg taken two or three times a day. Dosage adjustments are made based on the patient’s response, with a maintenance dose ranging from 500 mg to 2 g per day, divided into two to four doses. Common side effects include drowsiness, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and weakness. Serious side effects may include liver problems, anemia, and severe allergic reactions. Patients with liver disease, kidney disease, or a history of heart problems should use this medication with caution. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult their healthcare provider before using Aldomet. It is important to take this medication regularly, even if you feel well, and to monitor blood pressure frequently.
