Diflucan is also used to treat fungal meningitis and to prevent fungal infections in people with weakened immune systems due to cancer treatment, bone marrow transplant, or diseases like AIDS.
Dosage/Directions: Diflucan is typically taken once daily. The dosage varies depending on the type and severity of the infection. For example, a common dose for vaginal yeast infections is a single 150 mg capsule. For other infections, the dosage might range from 50 mg to 400 mg per day, and the treatment duration can vary from a few days to several weeks.
Side Effects: Common side effects include headache, dizziness, nausea, stomach pain, and diarrhea. Serious side effects can include liver problems, severe skin reactions, and heart rhythm changes.
