• Uses: It is used for temporary relief of pain associated with headache, backache, migraine, period pain, muscular pain, dental pain, sore throat, cold and flu symptoms, and fever. It can also be used for the prophylaxis and chronic treatment of asthma in adults and pediatric patients 12 months of age and older.
• How it works: Paracetamol works by blocking the activity of a chemical in the brain that causes pain. Ibuprofen works by blocking the production of a prostaglandin that is released in the body.
• Precautions: Overdoses of Paracetamol can cause severe liver and kidney damage. Ibuprofen should also be used with caution in patients with certain conditions, such as low thyroid function, Addison’s disease, liver damage, enlarged prostate, or shock.
